The 3 of us were hanging out in the central plaza one evening when the Oaxaca police band marched through carrying the Mexican flag which they folded in front of lots of local dignitaries…….
The Mexican police come pretty tooled up….there have been a lot of protest demos whilst we have been here – a lot of it seems to be about low salaries paid to workers such as university teachers. We walked down one small street one afternoon and were surrounded on both sides by around 60 armed police stationed ready for a march that was reportedly going to be passing through.
